WTMJ-TV is a television station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company alongside the Kenosha-licensed television station Ion WPXE-TV (channel 55). WTMJ-TV's studios are located on Capitol Drive (WIS 190) in Milwaukee, and their transmitter is located approximately four miles north of downtown Milwaukee.
The WTMJ broadcasts all of NBC's programming, but currently broadcasts the weekday editions of Today in two blocks, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Generally, in the past, the station did not air NBC programming. anticipated due to the Packers' extended breaking news or preseason football coverage (in addition to Days of Our Lives). After Scripps merged with the Journal, the network began airing delayed programming, either through subchannels or at dawn on the main channel.
WTMJ-TV currently broadcasts 39 hours of locally produced news programs each week. WTMJ's newscast ratings had generally ranked first among the market's television news services for most of the 1990s and early 2000s. Since the 2010s, WITI, WISN, and WTMJ have competed and placed first in select scoring periods.
