rheinmaintv is a private television station for Frankfurt and the extended Rhine-Main region, based in the Rödelheim district of Frankfurt am Main.
In 1995, the production company Bibo TV founded the Rhein-Main-Ballungsraum-Fernsehen-Verwaltungsgesellschaft to set up and operate a regional television station. The Hessian State Media Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media in Kassel granted this company a license for the rheinmaintv project on April 8, 2002. In the same year, construction of the broadcasting center in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe got underway. On October 27, 2003, rheinmaintv began broadcasting. With the exit of the founding shareholder Bibo TV on June 13, 2005, the move to the neighboring new building was not carried out. In addition to a number of private investors and communications agencies, Eintracht Frankfurt and Skyliners GmbH also hold shares in the company. Until January 31, 2014, the broadcasting center was located in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. In February 2014, rheinmaintv relocated to Mörfelden-Walldorf. Since January 1, 2022, rheinmaintv has been based in the Rödelheim district of Frankfurt am Main.
