Holvoet TV is a local Chilean television channel based in the city of Copiapó, capital of the III Region of Atacama. It belongs to the Empresas Holvoet group, owned by local businessman Edwin Holvoet, who is also involved in the chemical and transportation industries. Holvoet TV began broadcasting on April 7, 2001 in the city of Copiapó, under the name Canal 4 Copiapó, Televisión Regional de Atacama or Atacama Televisión. The main objective of the channel at the time of its launching was to provide information and culture to the community. In 2002, it changed its name to Holvoet Televisión. That same year, the channel submitted the Imágenes de Atacama program project to the National Television Council's competitive fund, but was not awarded. However, the project was resubmitted in 2003 and received 6 million pesos.
