It was formed in 1993 when QVC, Inc. agreed to a deal with Sky TV to create a British version of the American channel. "QVC - The Shopping Channel" first broadcast in the UK on 1 October 1993. The brand names, slogans, logos, service marks and other trademarks of QVC's products, services and promotions belong exclusively to QVC Inc. and/or ER Marks, Inc., its subsidiaries, licensors and partners, and are protected from copying and simulation under national and international trademark and copyright laws and treaties worldwide. All other product or brand names are trademarks of their respective owners. The channel broadcasts live from 9 am to 1 am throughout the year. QVC UK claims a market penetration of 15.4 million households in cable, satellite and digital terrestrial TV. The Astra 2E's footprint also spans much of Western Europe.
